Tim Dorsey

My name is Tim Dorsey. I’m the owner of TDF. I’ve been a fitness trainer in Sandusky for over 10 years. I decided that I wanted to be a trainer because it is my true passion to help people find their greatest self. At my gym you can learn how to gain or lose weight. You can learn how to lift properly. You can learn all about nutrition... etc. However, the main thing we take pride in coaching here is self love. We teach students how to speak kindly to themselves. We teach students how to be grateful for their current place in life and all of their future possibilities. We know that if we can develop the idea of self love, we can then help coach and guide you to the greatest version of yourself. We’re a great big family here. We don’t workout around each other, we work out with each other. We fail with each other. We laugh. We cry. We learn. We love each other! And we’d love you to join us!

Dustin Smith

Hi, I’m Dustin Smith,

I help active, busy people stay fit, healthy, and mobile with less aches and pains.  After overcoming a broken spine and the lowest point in my life, I found purpose in helping others in similar situations achieve their health, fitness, and performance goals.

I help anyone from those with previous injuries who want to get into better shape without hurting themselves to athletes looking to optimally train to maximize their potential.


I realize every person is different, so my training and nutrition plans cater to clients individual needs and are modified based on their responses.  All I ask is that you have a goal, are willing to work hard, and have a positive attitude.


What I offer
1 on 1 Personal Training, Small Group Training, Movement Screening with Customized Corrective Exercises, Strategies for Improved Low Back Health, and Nutrition Strategies aligned with your goals.

Darla Kelley

My name is Darla Kelley and I have been with Tim Dorsey Fitness since July of 2016.  I started out teaching Dance2Fit classes, which I personally got certified in by the owner down in Knoxville, TN in June of 2016.  That class was my catalyst into the fitness world.  I started taking other classes at the gym and eventually started filling in and teaching them as well.  I am currently working on a new platform workout, called Beatzboxing, to have it officially trademarked.  I have been teaching this class consistently since March of 2019.

You can catch me at the gym on my free time, either working out or working on my craft.  Fitness is a major part of my life and TDF has helped me develop that over the years.  Love being a part of the TDF trainer family and helping people find their own passion for fitness!

Kaine Kerr

I’m Kaine! I’m a Certified Personal Trainer at Tim Dorsey Fitness!! When I made the decision to get back into the gym, it was solely based on a job opportunity that required me to be in shape. After a couple months of working out, I turned the job opportunity down. However, I noticed some changes with myself physically. I began losing weight, eating better, and overall improved my well being.

So I kept going, I improved every day and then lost 90lbs and now 3 years later I have become a trainer, and someone that wants nothing more than to help that next person get a little bit better. I want to help you reach your goals, help make things that were once hard for you, a little easier.

We can work at your pace or we can work as intensely as you want, but we will improve, we will get better each day. As Jedi Master Yoda says “Do, or do not. There is no try.” So stop in, set your goals, and we are not going to try to reach them, we ARE going to reach them.

Melanie C. Adams

Hi everyone my name is Melanie Adams! I started teaching fitness in 2011. I became a certified Zumba fitness instructor after having my first child for my own personal motivation. Shortly after it flourished into a love and passion for fun in fitness. I have continued to teaching Zumba over the years along with becoming certified in Zumba Kids, Kids Jr., Strong by Zumba, Zumba Sentao in the past three years. My most recent certification was becoming a Licensed Lesmills BodyPump instructor in August 2019. 

My passion is to help people to get moving in a fun, energetic way. I want for every person to experience the joy that fitness brings to me; Physical health, emotional balance, the ultimate stress release in times of need, confidence, and friendships that are lasting. Fitness doesn’t have to be difficult. If you start with a format that just gets you moving and helps you to have fun then you are well on your way. I can assure you at Tim Dorsey Fitness we welcome all ages with any fitness level. We work with you where your at from day one and on. Lee Jordan

My name is Lee Jordan and I’m a certified personal trainer at TDF. Tim changed my life and completely transformed me physically and now I’m in better shape than I was in my 40’s. In his absence, I’ve enjoyed running the gym and some of his classes and recently took it to a new level by becoming a Certified Personal Trainer.  I specialize in training gentlemen like myself over the age of 50, helping them reach their fitness goals.  I know, if I can do it, anyone can do it!!

Crystal Meisler

Hi, I’m Crystal! My passion for fitness began in my early 20’s when I discovered the positive effects it could have on your health mentally and physically. The more educated I became the more I realized how much I wanted to help others in becoming a better, stronger version of themselves. I became a certified group instructor with (AFAA) Aerobic & Fitness Association of America in 2015. I specialize in strength and spin class with a focus on proper form and provide modifications as needed for all fitness levels. I believe exercise doesn’t have to be a daunting task, so I take pride in making classes fun yet challenging in a creative way. I have two young boys and although balancing family and career may be challenging sometimes I believe that finding time for yourself and your health is just as important and a great example for family.

Kista Ringer-Shimer

Hey y'all, my name is Kista Shimer! I am the resident POUND Instructor at TDF!! 


I first tried POUND in 2016 with my sister-in-law. It took some convincing on her part, because I am not a choreographed fitness class type! But I gave in and I'm so glad I did! After a few classes I was hooked. It was so fun and I saw great results! I learned quickly that it was more than just a choreographed class! 


I took a GIANT step out of my comfort zone and in February of 2017 I went for my certification. I didn't think I would ever see my name and "fitness instructor" in the same sentence,  but here I am! I overcame my insecurities and became a POUND Pro! It was the most empowering thing I've ever done, and now I get to empower others! 


My favorite thing about POUND is that while it is a high energy, intense full body workout,  it is designed for anybody, any age, any stage, at any fitness level. POUND is so much more than a workout, it really is a way to release and let go of life's stresses! It encourages you to embrace what your body can do and just have fun! POUND is proof that fitness can be fun and effective! 


Outside of teaching I am a wife and a mom! I work part-time as Histology Technician in the Pathology Department at FRMC!

Barbra Biltz

Hi. My name is Barb Biltz. I am an ACSM Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist and Personal Trainer. I have my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Exercise Science from Bowling Green State University. I have always had a passion for fitness and working with people to achieve their individual goals. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work in several areas within the field. For 15 years I worked in the hospital setting in cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation performing exercise testing and patient education. As a personal trainer, I enjoy providing my clients with challenging workouts that keep them motivated. My specialties include: balance and core conditioning, functional training, sports conditioning and senior fitness. As a group exercise instructor, I love pushing my classes to do their best but having fun is important to me! Creating motivating playlist and workouts that keep people coming back is key. When I’m not in the gym, I enjoy running and doing races with my friends and spending time with my family. I have three amazing children: Michael, Brandon and Lauren.

Daniel Smith

Daniel is our TDF utility man!! Literally a Jack of all trades. Dan fills in whenever and wherever he can. He helps run classes, greets customers, and mans the desk daily so that I can do my job and run my life more efficiently!

Jane Letterhos

Jane has been teaching Spinning since 2008, and started teaching at Tim Dorsey Fitness since 2017.  She also enjoys running and participating in triathlons and taking other Group Fitness classes at the gym.  Jane received her Bachelor's Degree from Kent State University in Art Education PK-12, and her Masters Degree from Grand Canyon University in Educational Administration.  She has been teaching Art 7-12 since 2002 and is currently employed by Danbury Schools in Marblehead.  

Jane was hooked after attending her first spin class and became a certified instructor in 2008. “Exercise has been a very large and healing part of my life in so many different ways.  I hope to share with others what I’ve experienced by teaching classes that people actually look forward to coming to.  I want them to leave feeling completely refreshed mentally and physically.  My classes will bring high-energy fun!”

We started in the basement of the Best Western hotel 8 years ago with a few yoga mats and great intentions. Over the last 8 years we've built TimDorseyFitness into the amazing full service gym that it is today.. We offer over 15 different fitness classes for people of all ages and skill levels.  From Group Circuit, to Spin, to Zumba, to Dance2Fit and many more.. We offer a full service open gym and have the absolute best staff in the area! Our mission is not to build better bodies, It is to build greater hearts and stronger minds.
